I just read a great book called Daughter of the Mountains. This book is about a girl named Momo, who is about 9 years old, traveling The Great Trade Route (the Jelep La pass). She is traveling the pass to rescue her Red-Gold Lhasa terrier that was given to her by her friends father, she has wanted such a dog for years! But then a gang of thieves steal the precious dog and she must save her pet. Momo knows that she is putting her life at risk but also that she must save her dog. I think that this book shows devotion and love.
